The Abney Park Cat

Yesterday I walked around Abney Park for the first time ever. It was only a short wander, so I’d like to go back and take more photos when I have time (and when I can get my camera to work again). However, I was pleased to have run across this fella on my little walk. I had nearly mistaken him for an effigy at first–and he wouldn’t have been the first cat statue I’ve seen in a cemetery. He was, though, very real, and he sat still for a number of photos I took of him with my camera and my phone.

I’m staying in Newington Green until this weekend, where I’ll be bouncing off to a friend’s house nearby off Essex Road to mind her cat while she’s on holiday for a week or so. Hopefully by the end of that I’ll have a more permanent place to hang my hat.
